Being a morning person’s gained popularity of late, but everything has its up and downsides. I’ve identified a few pros and cons. Although, whether they apply to you depends on your lifestyle and views.

Pros

You’re the first one up

Joy. When you’re a morning person, you rise before most other people to enjoy peace and space before the day’s noise and activity begin. There’s no rush to get to the bathroom first. Nobody to dodge as you reach for the breakfast cereals, and no one’s problems to listen to.

The streets are quiet. Most rooms are empty, and you have the house to yourself.

You’ve got time to ease into the morning

It’s no fun rushing because you’re up late and have lots to do. If you rise with the larks, you can ease into the morning without strain.

The world is your oyster, to a degree, because you can do whatever you want. Maybe you’ll go for a run, meditate, or write without demands or distractions to bother you.

You can plan your day

I don’t know about you, but when I’m in a hurry, I tend not to prioritize and…
