Plant Hope

A poem

Photo by Darren Bockman on Unsplash

Somewhere dark there is a small seed open to courage that

when sunk soil-ward,

attracts the sun.

Warmth streams to soften fear,

and leaves sprout with tendrils that stretch for a nearby twig or vine.

Support gained,

they fasten tight.

Roots thrust deep into rich soil

and shoots climb.

Kindness waters,

petals unfurl,

and the fragrance of hope blooms.
