Claudia Ciobanu challenged me to list five phrases I hate/love to hear. This exercise proved thought-provoking. Perhaps you’ll want to pen your favorite and least favorite terms too. If so, tag me, and I’ll read them.

Favorite phrases

1. I’ve got plenty of time

2. I’m listening

3. Yes!

4. Good idea

5. I’ll try

I’ve got plenty of time

Who doesn’t love being told someone has time for them? This phrase is music to many people’s ears because it means they’ve been acknowledged and are to be given prime attention.

I’m listening

Again, this phrase is a gem because it shows somebody has enough respect for you to give you their full attention. Most of us want to be considered rather than overlooked, and getting attention can be helpful and healing when you need it.

Yes!

An answer in the affirmative is always great to hear. It means someone has heard you and agrees with you. (Although, it’s worth noting disagreements can also be sweet if they lead to learning and greater peace).
