It's built in medium feature. If I remember correctly, when you follow someone, a message pops up asking if you want to subscribe to their emails.

I didn't add any widgets. 😊 So, if people have agreed to subscribe at that time, they will get your stories in their inbox, provided they haven't opted out again via their settings.
