Some days your head’s empty of subjects to write about. You search your brain for hot topics and scintillating stories. But the inspiration cupboard’s bare. There’s not even a crumb to spark a tale.

It’s clear you need a swipe file.

What’s a swipe file?

Swipe files are the best-kept secrets of successful prolific authors. They never run out of inspiration because they collect potential writing fodder. They are always looking for topics to use the next time they want to pen a novel, article, or poem.

When you find an interesting snippet, make a note of it. Then pop it in a folder. Writers call such folders ‘swipe files’. You can dip into your collection of treasures when you need creative power. Gather inspiration every day. You’ll never run out of sparkling wit, captivating stories, and thought-provoking article references.
