Eight Ways Dogs Are More Sensible Than Humans

And their behaviors put a spring in their step

Humans often consider themselves above other creatures. They still recognize animals display certain positive traits, though. Dogs, for instance, are thought of as faithful. But there are times when our furry pals are not only dependable and friendly. They can be more sensible than us. Here are eight wise canine behaviors people may lack.

Live for the moment

Humans live in the past or future more than in the moment. They fret about what’s happened or might happen. This is wild because they can’t change the past or know what’s on the cards.

Dogs live for the moment, relishing each second as it unfurls. Their focus on the present means they can enjoy life and not linger on problems.

Forgive and forget

People sometimes sulk. They consider life unfair and resent friends and events that don’t meet their expectations. And when they harbor a grudge, happiness declines, and melancholy rises.

Most often, dogs get over small slights fast. They don’t brood or seek retribution if a pal insults them. They wag their tail and run to see friends who were once a little snappy due to an off day in the park.

Seek healthy pleasures

People love having fun, but their propensity to enjoy a good laugh and play drops when they mature. The drudge of nine-to-five life takes over, and they imagine it’s immature to mess around like they once did.

Instead of larking about, they seek pleasure in alcohol, cigarettes, and other unhealthy pursuits.

Fun is another word for living as far as our canine pals are concerned. They spend a great deal of time pursuing healthy enjoyment. They think nothing of bounding around the room for no apparent reason and show their joy in abundance.

Grab opportunities

Humans often hang back when opportunity knocks. They fear making fools of themselves and not being good enough to succeed. They dislike leaving their comfort zones and taking a chance.

Dogs, however, aren’t so slow off the mark. If tasty food, toys, or the opportunity to play is in front of them, they quickly grab what they want. They don’t stop to worry about whether they will succeed or are worthy. They take what they desire.

Never give up

People may quit attempts to reach their goals and follow their dreams. They often think one or two stretches toward their chosen prize are sufficient. They believe they are failures if they don’t achieve their aims fast. Or they imagine the task is impossible.

When a dog wants a bone, they don’t only try to get it once or twice. They set their eyes on the prize and return to the scene repeatedly. It’s hard to stop a dog from aiming to get what they desire.

Enjoy guilt-free relaxation

How often do humans say, “I’ll relax after I’ve….?” (Fill in the blank). When tired, they push themselves to the limit because they think they should. They often shut their ears to that little voice of reason that tells them to slow down, enjoy life, and put their feet up when they can.

Canines aren’t shy about letting down their fur and throwing themselves on a soft surface to sleep. They catch forty winks whenever they fancy, and at other times (when they’re not playing or eating), they veg out on snacks, if possible, and enjoy intermittent snoozes.

Exercise

Only some humans get excited about going for walkies. Exercising might be the last thing on their minds, as other activities take priority. Even watching repeats on TV comes before a stroll in the park.

The resulting stiffness, obesity and other conditions don’t increase the enthusiasm to move more. Sadly, lack of exercise often doesn’t boost genuine relaxation either, since even lounging involves guilt or frequent distractions that increase stress.

Dogs love to exercise as much as they love to relax and play. Moreover, they take a why walk when you can run attitude to life. They rarely walk during walkie time. They bound, race, and charge.

Play the fool

People are keen not to look foolish. Only comedians intentionally make fun of themselves or do ‘silly’ things. As kids, folks fool around and don’t worry about what anyone thinks of them. They aren’t so concerned about their image or keeping up appearances. Later, they want to impress.

Dogs love not just to play but to goof around. One of the things people enjoy about their canine pals is the way they do daft things just because they can. Their unabashed silliness is attractive, and it gives everyone pleasure.

Even goofing around is sensible if you’re a dog. They don’t take themselves too seriously, know how to have fun, and are not slow to grab opportunities and get what they want. We might be happier if we follow their example.
