Breathe in the Moon

A poem

Source

The night wants you

to submit, to let go

and dive into its

darkness. Enough of

candles and lullabies,

attempts to soothe

away your terror.

It’s time to settle

into fear, let it wash

over you in torrents,

and splash at your

feet until you note

the air is clear and

no monster lurks

under your bed,

waiting to eat you

up one mouthful

at a time.

Unclasp the covers,

breathe in the

fragrant moon.

She’s tired to

watch you struggle

with your dread.
