Dear past self, I’m prompted to let you in on a few secrets

This will pass

Nothing lasts forever. We’re in a state of perpetual motion. What is painful will mend, and one fine day, you’ll look back and sift through the gems of wisdom you collect.

It’s a life lesson

Experiences, even those that hurt, are lessons. Know they are valuable as they happen, and the pain will lift somewhat.

Listen to your intuition

Recognize your intuition, it speaks all the time. That discomfort in your gut’s trying to tell you something.

You are responsible for yourself, and no one else

You can’t heal other people when you’re in distress. Do what it takes to make yourself whole. Then you’ll be strong and wise.

You can cope

You can manage. You’ve got this. You only meet experiences you can deal with, and you’re more resilient than you think.

Note the adventure

See this experience as an adventure in your book of life. If your life was all sunflowers and buttercups, wouldn’t it be dull?

Your inner library is about to expand

What you learn now will change your future and pave the way for who you will be. It’s part of life’s plan.

Step up self-care

Take care of yourself. No one else will do it. Self-care boosts inner strength. You already have willpower. Now eat more spinach. Meditate. Buy shoes that don’t hurt your feet.

Find your boundaries

You’re not sure yet, where you end, and someone else begins. Define your boundaries early. Right now. It will save time later.

Dance

Don’t be so serious. Kick off your shoes and dance. Lift the pressure by having fun, despite your surroundings and circumstances.

Work out your priorities

What you think is most important at present isn’t so meaningful. Examine what is vital and gather what you treasure. Leave all else behind where it belongs.

Use your discernment

You have, to coin a worn phrase, put your eggs in a single basket. Spread your net wide. Make sure you have plenty of choices. There are so many more out there. You get to pick a path.

Don’t rely on anyone else

You need never rely on someone else for your happiness. Later, when you know this lesson, you’ll be so free and light. Let the idea seep into your bones and prepare to fly.

Plan

Plan more. Not in the way everyone expects, though. Figure out what you want. Know this will alter as you grow, but you will benefit from selecting an empowering direction.

Know that even if you don’t take any of this advice, you’re in for an exciting ride. Your life won’t always be ordinary, so it’s best to stop expecting it to look like most people’s and work with what feels right.

Understand you’ll always be okay. There’s an angel on your shoulder or a mini Buddha stuffed somewhere inside you, who will always be there.
